Cost Centre in TallyPrime — Cost Category, Allocation और Job Costing Basics

TallyPrime में costing Cost Centres से होती है। हर खर्च और आय को किसी department, branch या project (cost centre) में बाँटते हैं, ताकि पता चले कौन सा हिस्सा profit दे रहा है। Gateway of Tally → Create → Cost Centre से centre बनाएं, voucher में Cost Centre Allocations screen में amount बाँटें, और Cost Centre Break-up report देखें।

Cost Category बनाम Cost Centre

एक ही salary को एक साथ “Departments” और “Projects” दोनों तरह बाँटना हो, तभी अलग categories बनाइए। छोटे business के लिए सीधे cost centres काफी हैं (हमारी book “TallyPrime 7.0 सम्पूर्ण मार्गदर्शिका”, अध्याय 9 में यही सलाह है)।

Worked example: दो sites की job costing

Sharma Interiors दो sites पर काम कर रहा है: Site A (Malviya Nagar) और Site B (Vaishali Nagar), category Projects। अप्रैल में labour contractor को ₹60,000 bank से दिए: Site A का ₹40,000, Site B का ₹20,000।

Site A का पहला bill ₹1,50,000 (+GST) Sales voucher (Accounting Invoice) से बना और Interior Contract Income ledger पर पूरा ₹1,50,000 Site A में allocate किया। अब Cost Centre Break-up → Site A में income ₹1,50,000 और labour ₹40,000 दिखेगा; material, transport जैसे बाकी खर्च भी Site A में डालते रहें तो site का असली margin सामने आ जाता है। Bank और party ledgers पर allocation नहीं होता, सिर्फ income/expense पर।

Department-wise तुलना के लिए Cost Centre Break-up में Alt+C (New Column) से दूसरा centre जोड़कर side-by-side देख सकते हैं; यह तरीका हमारी book के अध्याय 9 (Section 9.7) में है।

Common Mistakes

Allocation में total कम-ज़्यादा छोड़ देना

₹60,000 में से ₹50,000 ही बाँटा तो ₹10,000 किसी project में नहीं दिखेगा। पूरा amount allocate करें, ज़रूरत हो तो “Common/Overheads” centre बनाएं।

Party या bank ledger पर cost centre लगाना

Report में income-expense की जगह balances घुस जाते हैं। Cost centres income/expense ledgers पर ही रखें।

Inventory voucher में cost centre ढूँढना

Cost centres accounting vouchers पर लगते हैं; Receipt Note जैसे inventory vouchers में नहीं। Material cost के लिए purchase या journal में allocation करें।

FAQ

Cost centre kaise banaye Tally Prime mein?

Gateway of Tally → Create → Cost Centre (या Alt+G → Create Master → Cost Centre)। Name और Under (Primary या parent cost centre) भरें, Ctrl+A। Feature बंद हो तो TallyPrime enable करने को पूछेगा।

Cost Category और Cost Centre में क्या अंतर है?

Cost Category बड़ा umbrella है, जैसे Projects या Departments। Cost Centre उसके अंदर की unit है, जैसे Site A या Admin Dept। Voucher में allocation cost centre में होता है। छोटे business में category ज़रूरी नहीं।

Voucher में cost centre allocation screen क्यों नहीं आ रही?

उस ledger में Cost centres are applicable = Yes होना चाहिए। Income/expense ledgers में default Yes होता है, asset/liability ledgers में No।

Cost centre report कहाँ देखें?

Gateway of Tally → Display More Reports → Statements of Accounts → Cost Centres → Cost Centre Break-up या Category Summary। Alt+G में Breakup of Cost Centre भी type कर सकते हैं।

क्या cost centre-wise Balance Sheet मिलती है?

TallyPrime में cost centre-wise final accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet) built-in नहीं हैं। Break-up report में income-expense दिखता है; पूरी final accounts के लिए TDL add-on लगता है।
