Prepaid Expenses ledger को Loans & Advances (Asset) group में बनाएं, जो Current Assets (Primary group) का sub-group है। अगले साल की service के लिए पहले से दिया पैसा (insurance, rent, AMC, subscription) अभी खर्च नहीं, asset है।
हमारी book TallyPrime 7.0 सम्पूर्ण मार्गदर्शिका के year-end closing अध्याय में “Prepaid Insurance A/c (Current Asset)” को 31 March के journal से debit किया गया है। कुछ firms सीधे Current Assets group में ledger रखती हैं — Balance Sheet दोनों में सही बनती है।

Accurate Traders ने 1 October को shop insurance का 12 महीने का premium ₹24,000 bank से दिया (Insurance – Indirect Expenses में बुक हुआ)। 31 March तक 6 महीने बीते, बाकी 6 महीने (₹12,000) अगले साल के हैं।

Balance Sheet → Current Assets → Loans & Advances (Asset) → Prepaid Insurance। Schedule III में Other Current Assets / Short-term Loans & Advances में।
Common Mistakes
Prepaid को Indirect Expenses में बनाना
तब adjustment का कोई असर नहीं होगा — खर्च वहीं रहेगा। Prepaid = asset group।
नए साल में reverse entry भूल जाना
Prepaid balance साल-दर-साल पड़ा रहेगा और अगले साल का खर्च कम दिखेगा। 1 April को reversal ज़रूर।
Security deposit को prepaid में डालना
Refundable deposit Deposits (Asset) में जाता है, prepaid में नहीं।
