Product की अपनी packing (bottle, jar, printed box, label) का ledger Direct Expenses group (Primary group) में बनाएं; बिक्री के बाद dispatch की packing (outer carton, tape, bubble wrap) Indirect Expenses में। Packing material का stock item-wise रखना हो तो उसकी खरीद Purchase Accounts से करें।
यहाँ practice अलग-अलग है — manufacturing unit में primary packing cost of production है, जबकि trading firm में ज़्यादातर packing selling खर्च होती है। ज़रूरी है कि आप एक policy चुनें और हर साल वही रखें। हमारी book TallyPrime 7.0 सम्पूर्ण मार्गदर्शिका के अध्याय 6 में भी Direct Expenses में “Factory expenses” जैसे production से जुड़े खर्च ही रखे गए हैं।

Direct Expenses: P&L के Trading हिस्से में (Gross Profit से पहले)। Indirect Expenses: Gross Profit के बाद। Stock item बनाया हो तो बचा packing material Closing Stock में Balance Sheet पर।
Common Mistakes
सारी packing एक ledger में
Primary और dispatch packing मिलाने से product cost और Gross Profit गलत आते हैं। दो ledgers रखें।
बड़ा packing stock सीधे expense
साल के end में बहुत packing बची हो तो उसे expense करने से profit कम दिखता है — stock item बनाकर closing stock में लें।
Packing charges recovery को expense से घटाना
Customer से वसूली अलग income ledger में और GST assessable value में जोड़ें।
