Difference in Opening Balances — TallyPrime Trial Balance Fix

Trial Balance या Balance Sheet में “Difference in Opening Balances” दिखे तो इसका मतलब है ledgers के opening Debit और Credit balances का total बराबर नहीं। इलाज: Trial Balance में opening दिखाएँ, अंतर वाला group और ledger खोजें, उसी का opening सुधारें — बिना कारण plug entry न करें।

Fix steps — सुरक्षित क्रम में

Backup first: Alt+Y → Backup & Restore से backup लें — opening balances बदलने से सभी reports बदलती हैं।
Opening दिखाएँ: Alt+G → Trial Balance → F12 (Configure) → opening balance दिखाने वाला option Yes। अब हर group का opening column दिखेगा और नीचे difference।
Group-wise मिलाएँ: पिछले साल की audited balance sheet (या पुराने software का closing) सामने रखें। हर group (Capital, Sundry Creditors, Sundry Debtors, Bank, Fixed Assets…) का opening मिलाएँ; जिस group में फर्क है उस पर Enter करके ledgers देखें।
आधा करने की trick: Difference को 2 से भाग दें — उस amount का कोई ledger हो तो शायद उसका Dr/Cr उल्टा है।
सुधारें: Ledger पर Alt+Enter या Alter Master से opening balance और Dr/Cr ठीक करें; छूटा ledger बनाकर opening भरें (देखें Opening Balance Entry)। Bill-wise ledgers में bill-wise breakup का total भी मिलाएँ।
दो companies: पिछला साल अलग company में है तो Verification of Balances report से पिछले closing और नए opening का फर्क देखें।
आखिरी उपाय: Help site के अनुसार अंतर को किसी liabilities ledger में जोड़कर या assets ledger से घटाकर बराबर किया जा सकता है — सिर्फ़ CA की सहमति से।

Worked example

नई company में opening भरने के बाद Trial Balance: कुल Dr ₹8,45,000, कुल Cr ₹8,35,000 — नीचे Difference in Opening Balances ₹10,000 (Cr side) दिख रहा है। ₹10,000 ÷ 2 = ₹5,000। Creditors list देखने पर Sharma Traders का opening ₹5,000 Dr भरा मिला, जबकि balance sheet में यह ₹5,000 का creditor (Cr) था।

Dr/Cr बदलते ही Dr total ₹5,000 घटा और Cr total ₹5,000 बढ़ा — दोनों ₹8,40,000, difference शून्य। अगर अंतर दोगुना न होता (जैसे सिर्फ़ ₹5,000), तो इसका मतलब होता कि ₹5,000 का कोई ledger छूटा है या amount गलत है।

हमारी book (भाग 2, Schedule III अध्याय) भी कहती है कि auditor को देने से पहले Difference in Opening Balance शून्य होना चाहिए।

Expert को कब बुलाएँ?

सैकड़ों ledgers हों, पुराने software से import हुआ हो, split के बाद opening बिगड़ी हो, या stock और ledger opening दोनों उलझे हों — तब group-wise reconciliation में अनुभव काम आता है।

Difference को Suspense या Capital में डाल देना

Trial Balance तो मिल जाएगा पर असली गलती अगले साल तक चलती है। पहले गलत ledger खोजें।

Opening Journal voucher से balances डालना

Ledger master के Opening Balance field में ही भरें, वरना opening और transactions मिल जाते हैं। Opening = ledger master।

What is difference in opening balance in TallyPrime?

सभी ledgers (और stock) के opening Debit और Credit balances का total बराबर न हो तो TallyPrime बचा हुआ अंतर Difference in Opening Balances के नाम से Trial Balance और Balance Sheet में दिखाता है।

Difference कैसे ढूँढें?

Trial Balance खोलें, F12 (Configure) में opening balance दिखाने का option Yes करें और हर group का opening अपनी पिछली balance sheet से मिलाएँ। जहाँ अंतर हो, उस group के ledgers में गलती है।

Difference दोगुना क्यों आता है?

किसी ledger का opening Dr की जगह Cr (या उल्टा) भरने पर अंतर उस amount का दोगुना होता है। इसलिए difference को आधा करके उस amount वाला ledger खोजें।

क्या difference को किसी ledger में डालकर खत्म कर दूँ?

यह आखिरी उपाय है। पहले असली गलती — छूटा ledger, उल्टा Dr/Cr या गलत amount — खोजें। बिना कारण plug करने से balance sheet गलत होती है।

Split या import के बाद difference आया?

Split के बाद carried forward balances बदलने या import/sync से ledgers के opening overwrite होने पर ऐसा होता है। पुरानी company के closing से नई company के opening मिलाएँ।
